To make your stay in Leipzig as pleasant and efficient as possible, we are happy to support you in preparing, conducting, and following up on your research work. If you depend on public transport during your research, we will provide you with a LEIPZIG CARD free of charge upon request. Please send us a copy of your press ID for this purpose.

To help you learn more about our city in advance, we will gladly send you a press kit with informational material upon request. The tourist leaflet is currently available in 5 language versions. You can find additional brochures and pamphlets here:

On special occasions, we take part in thematic press trips organized by our partners to Leipzig and arrange individual program elements as well as guided tours that offer plenty of material for editorial publications. We will gladly send you an overview of the latest Leipzig topics for inspiration. If you are planning an editorial piece on one of these topics, we will be happy to provide you with more detailed information.

In public spaces (streets, squares, parks, etc.) you do not need an additional filming permit. In special cases, you must always ask the property owner.
For municipal buildings and facilities such as schools, daycare centers, youth clubs, citizens' offices, etc., please send your request for a filming permit to the City of Leipzig's Department of Communications at kommunikation@leipzig.de. Please include the following information:
- Location
- Occasion (medium, program)
- Brief description of the content
- Time period
- Interview requests
The City of Leipzig’s Office for Economic Development offers extensive services for film and television productions and is happy to assist with obtaining the necessary permits.
