Ringelnatz Tour - day trip
In the poet's footsteps through Leipzig and Wurzen
Discover Joachim Ringelnatz, the great poet of Saxony, the sailor, painter and traveling artist. Explore the city center of Leipzig, the city of his parents and frequent performance venue of the artist. From there, you will travel to Wurzen, visit the house where he was born and discover exciting testimonies in the museum, such as his duffel bag, which traveled halfway around the world. Strengthened by Ringelnatz's favorite dish, you will follow the traces of his childhood through one of Saxony's oldest cities.

Your Ringelnatz-enthusiastic city guide will lead you through Leipzig's city center to Ringelnatz's life and, after this introduction, take you by S-Bahn from Leipziger Markt to Wurzen to Ringelnatz's birthplace. You will discover the baroque house with small exhibitions with a representative of the Ringelnatz Association. After lunch, during which one of Ringelnatz's favorite dishes is served, the tour continues in the Ringelnatz Cabinet in the Museum of Cultural History. Finally, you will experience a guided city tour along the Ringelnatz art trail before taking the S-Bahn back to Leipzig.
