Ringelnatz Tour - Day Trip

Discover Joachim Ringelnatz, Saxony's great poet, sailor, painter and travelling artist. Explore the city centre of Leipzig, the city of his parents and where the artist often performed. From there, travel to Wurzen, visit the house where he was born and discover fascinating evidence of his life in the museum, such as his duffel bag that travelled halfway around the world. Strengthened by Ringelnatz's favourite food, follow in the footsteps of his childhood through one of Saxony's oldest cities.

Your Ringelnatz-enthusiastic city guide will take you through the city center of Leipzig to learn about Ringelnatz's life and, after this introduction, will take you by S-Bahn from Leipzig Market to Wurzen to Ringelnatz's birthplace. You will explore the baroque house with small exhibitions with a representative of the Ringelnatz Association. After lunch, which includes one of Ringelnatz's favorite dishes, the tour continues in an authentic and lifelike manner in the Ringelnatz Cabinet in the Cultural History Museum. Finally, you will experience a guided city tour along the Ringelnatz Art Trail before taking the S-Bahn back to Leipzig.
