Leipzig/Halle Airport

  • Airport/airfield
With Halle/Leipzig Airport, the Leipzig region has a modern and efficient gateway to global business and tourism markets.
Leipzig/Halle Airport was one of the largest airports in Germany when it was founded in 1927. AP Brunnert und Partner were responsible for the master plan and architecture. Built within four years, the central terminal combines the ICE-capable long-distance train station with local public transport, check-in area, parking garage and a shopping arcade under one roof and, thanks to its intermodal character, guarantees both the best accessibility and enormous growth potential.

Since 1990, the airport has been developed into one of the most modern airports in Europe. Numerous investments today guarantee the best possible connections to the road network of Leipzig, the region and the whole of Central Germany. The airport also offers space for events of all kinds.

The podcast "Willkommen in Leipzig" takes you behind the scenes on a tour of the entire airport site. It's worth listening in for exciting insider information!
