Visitor center at the Lippendorf power plant

The Lippendorf power plant is one of the most modern coal-fired power plants in Europe and is located around 15 kilometers south of Leipzig. It consists of a twin-unit plant whose two power plant units are operated by the Lusatian energy companies. As part of a two-hour guided tour, visitors and interested parties can even take a look behind the scenes of the plant, visit the halls with the respective work stations and gain numerous technological insights. From the 163-metre-high boiler house, visitors are even granted a unique view over Leipzig's Neuseenland region.
