The HEIDE SPA Hotel & Resort in Bad Düben has been welcoming guests under this motto since 1999. Under one roof, on an area of 12.000 square meters, there are various wellness and adventure areas that invite you to relax and linger. In 2007, a four-star superior hotel was added to the overall offer. Over 120 employees look after the well-being of the guests. The spa area is connected to the hotel via a "bathrobe corridor", which is equipped with 98 rooms and suites that are designed according to the individual seasons. The quality of the resort has been certified by the German Wellness Association.
The bathing area has a total water surface of 850 square meters and includes various spacious indoor and outdoor pools, whirlpools, separate toddler pools and a flow channel. The outdoor area offers plenty of space to relax with a swimming pool, a spacious lawn and a small beach. In the sauna world, a steam sauna, Finnish sauna and bio sauna as well as a plunge pool and a sauna bar invite guests to enjoy and relax. Outside, an earth sauna and a kelo log cabin sauna can be found. There, infusions are offered every hour. In the wellness, beauty and therapy area, numerous offers for face and body await guests. A special feature of the HEIDE SPA is the specially developed wellness concept and signature treatment "Siusili". Slavic customs and rituals that are over 1.500 years old are brought to life and integrated into the wellness treatments. A special feature here is the local heather honey, which is integrated into treatments, dishes and a specially developed care range at “Siusili”. Natural mud is also used for treatments in the HEIDE SPA.
Just switch off your head
The Garden of the Senses is directly adjacent to the hotel. The extensive green area invites guests to let their thoughts wander in the open air and to concentrate only on their own physical sensations. Various testing options appeal to the senses. The Square of the Monoliths is reminiscent of a mystical rock garden, whose granite columns offer the opportunity to sensitively explore the various surface structures. The Balance Islands, with their small, flexible islands, appeal to the sense of balance while a specially created labyrinth is intended to ensure that visitors can relax and forget all of their everyday worries.
As a reference to the earlier settlers of the Düben region, a place of peace was built in the Garden of the Senses, gently nestled under old trees. The hut, built according to the Slavic model, is made of oak trunks with a thatched roof and is idyllically located by a small pond and also serves as an event location.
Relaxed work in a professional atmosphere
In the HEIDE SPA you can not only relax but also work. The hotel offers various rooms for this purpose. A 400 square meter event hall with a stage can accommodate up to 450 people. Three conference rooms, each measuring 45 square meters, offer space for smaller conferences or team meetings. Two conference rooms are divided by a partition wall and can be combined as required. All rooms have natural light and are equipped with modern conference equipment. In addition, there are almost 300 free parking spaces available.
Culinary offerings for every taste
The various dining establishments focus on regional cuisine and pay attention to sustainability and the protection of natural resources. In the hotel restaurant "Allegro", overnight guests can enjoy a daily breakfast buffet and half board in the evening, which can also be enjoyed on the light-flooded sun terrace when the weather is nice. The lobby bar in the hotel invites you to end the day relaxed at the bar with a cocktail or a glass of wine.
If you would like to eat a la carte, the "LebensArt" restaurant welcomes you with its modern lounge atmosphere or the rustic Mühlenstube. The "Mühlenstube" owes its name to the mill that used to be located where the current restaurant is. When the weather is nice, we recommend a drink with a view of the spa gardens.
A varied selection of dishes for small and large appetites awaits guests in the so-called Freeflow Restaurant. It is located directly in the pool area and makes it easy to satisfy a small hunger between bathing sessions. After sweating, you can comfortably regenerate at the sauna bar, in the fireplace corner or in the garden. After a hot infusion, a cool drink refreshes and invigorates. There are also various snacks and light meals available.
Diverse events provide variety
Anyone who longs for culture but does not want to leave the HEIDE SPA can choose from a wide range of events. In January, for example, the Johann Strauss Gala takes place, which is dedicated to the work of the Austrian composer Johann Strauss. The members of the Gala Symphony Orchestra Prague, internationally renowned soloists, the Johann Strauss Ballet and presenter Rolf Hartge bring this musical era back to life.
Every year in March, Scottish and Irish worlds merge in a musical and dance way at "Cornamusa-World of Pipe Rock and Irish Dance" to create a completely new music and dance show in which modernity and tradition meet. Traditionally at Easter, visitors to the HEIDE SPA can enjoy the Easter brunch completed with live music. Big city feelings arise when visiting the traditional Leipzig cabaret "academixer", which provides relaxed entertainment with plenty of humour. In October, guests of the HEIDE SPA can enjoy an almost authentic Bavarian atmosphere at the Oktoberfest and enjoy tasty beer and hearty Bavarian dishes in traditional beer tent sets.
Culture and nature around the HEIDE SPA
Those who choose to stay at the HEIDE SPA will not only experience pure relaxation but can also enjoy a first-class wellness experience as well as various cultural and nature activities. The well-preserved Obermühle is located very close to the HEIDE SPA. This historic water mill was first mentioned in documents around 1500, until it was shut down in 1948. The mill garden, an oven built according to a historical model, the farmer's garden and the field barn with threshing machine invite you to explore. The Obermühle is open every weekend and its cabaret stage offers cultural highlights all year round.
"Experience the moor with all your senses" - this is the motto of the moorland experience garden between HEIDE SPA and Obermühle, which invites you to take an interesting walk of discovery. On a circular path you can learn all sorts of interesting facts about the formation, mining and processing of moorland in the region. When you arrive at the moorland footbath, you can take off your socks and shoes and experience the stimulating effect for yourself. The moorland experience garden is open from May 1st to October 1st.
A cultural attraction in the immediate vicinity is the over 1000-year-old town of Bad Düben. The spa town is located at the intersection of the cities of Leipzig, Lutherstadt Wittenberg and the Renaissance town of Torgau. It is framed by the heathland of the same name and the largely natural floodplain landscape of the Mulde, which meanders along the western edge of the city towards Goitzsche and the Mulde reservoir. The Dübener Heide (Düben Heath) extends to Wittenberg on the Elbe in the north. The heath and moorland landscape here still offers beavers a natural home and holidaymakers hiking and wellness destinations. With an area of 2000 square kilometres, the Dübener Heide (Düben Heath) is the largest contiguous forest area in the Central European lowlands.
