Footage videos

Here you will find themed videos that show Leipzig and the region from the extraordinary perspective of a drone. The rights to the footage are held by Leipzig Tourism and Marketing (LTM) GmbH. The material is managed by the company MEDIAPORTA, Holbeinstraße 9, 04229 Leipzig, and professionally prepared for interested parties.

Requests can be submitted by specifying the desired film sequences (timecode) via the contact form at the bottom of the page.
The use of the material is intended for journalistic and editorial reporting to the public about the Leipzig region as a tourist destination or as a conference and congress hub in the media, particularly in film productions, provided that no promotional references to services, products, or other offers of identifiable providers are made.
Your request will be reviewed and, if applicable, approved by LTM GmbH. You will then receive contact information for the production company MEDIAPORTA, which will provide you with the material for a processing fee depending on the effort involved.

Any use of the footage beyond these terms by user groups not listed here, particularly promotional and/or commercial uses, may be clarified on a case-by-case basis upon request via the contact form. LTM GmbH reserves the right to grant or deny approval at its own discretion.

Leipzig city center

The Saxon trade fair and cultural city, with its more than 600,000 inhabitants, offers a unique range of tourist attractions. The heart of the city beats in the compact city center with its more than 40 trade fair palaces and arcades, where shops, restaurants, and cafés invite you to linger. In the center, visitors will also find a diverse arts and culture scene as well as architectural sights such as the Old Town Hall, the main railway station, and the Paulinum.

Industrial culture in western Leipzig

In the west of Leipzig, the districts of Plagwitz, Lindenau, and Schleußig have preserved an industrial architectural heritage covering more than 90 hectares. It was Germany’s first systematically developed large-scale industrial area. Today, former factories such as the Baumwollspinnerei, the Konsumzentrale, the Buntgarnwerke, and the Westwerk are trendy attractions for fans of architecture and culture.

New Lakeland

If you're looking for beaches and relaxation, but also action and culture, New Lakeland is the perfect place. Located right next to Leipzig, you'll find more than 20 lakes with a total water surface of 70 sq km that will make every vacationer's heart beat faster. Each individual lake in New Lakeland has developed its own unique character and offers special experiences.

Education and sciences

Leipzig is a city of education and science. Around 40,000 people study at Leipzig University and the 14 universities. In addition, numerous other scientific and educational institutions are based in Leipzig, including the German National Library, the City Archive, the Fraunhofer Institute, the Faculty of Sports Science and the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research.

Monument to the Battle of the Nations in winter

The Monument to the Battle of the Nations is Leipzig’s most famous landmark and, at 91 metres tall, is considered the most monumental monument in Europe. It commemorates the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig in October 1813. With around half a million soldiers and more than 110,000 casualties, the largest battle of the 19th century took place around Leipzig. The monument was built 100 years later based on designs by Bruno Schmitz and Clemens Thieme. From the viewing platform, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view over Leipzig and the surrounding area.

Leipzig Trade Fair and Congress Center Leipzig

The traditional Leipzig Trade Fair is among the top 50 trade fair companies worldwide. Every year, more than 270 events with around 1.2 million visitors take place at the new Leipzig Exhibition Centre. Directly integrated into the complex is the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL), which combines outstanding architectural standards with state-of-the-art media and conference technology.
