BMW Leipzig plant

The 3-year construction phase of the BMW plant began in August 2001, with a total investment of 1.2 billion euros. Since March 2005, several hundred vehicles have been produced here every day - in the first ten years, more than two million cars have already rolled off the production line. The visual highlight is the spectacular and award-winning architecture of the central building designed by Zaha Hadid. It was awarded the German Architecture Prize in 2005 and acts as the communicative center of the plant.

To ensure that the employees have their product in front of them at all times, the car bodies are transported between the individual production areas via the office workstations . The BMW plant is also a popular destination for excursions: one of the plant tours gives you the opportunity to gain an insight into vehicle production - from welding the bodywork to painting and individual vehicle equipment.
