Between Lake Schladitz and Lake Werbelin - not far from the Gerbisdorf district - stands an impressive industrial monument that commemorates the history of lignite mining in the region.
The SRs 6300 bucket wheel excavator was one of the largest excavators of its type in the world, weighing approx. 190 tons and measuring approx. 17 meters in height.
