Between Schladitzer and Werbeliner Lakes there is an impressive industrial monument that reminds us of the history of brown coal mining in the region. The 17-meter-high and over 100-ton bucket wheel of the SRs 6300 excavator is part of a small open-air museum not far from Gerbisdorf.
In Gerbisdorf itself, the pond garden invites you to linger.
Please note that when visiting the paddle wheel and the Werbeliner See nature reserve to protect biodiversity, the paths must not be left. Hence is the Werbeliner See is not a bathing lake either (Alternative option is the nearby Schladitzer Lake), we ask you to take this into consideration!
