Johannapark

Johannapark is located in Leipzig's western suburb. It is best known for its pond with a small island and two bridges, as well as the view of the City Tower and the tower of the New Town Hall. The park was created between 1858 and 1863 by the Leipzig entrepreneur and banker Wilhelm Theodor Seyfferth to commemorate his daughter Johanna, who died at a young age of a broken heart, according to legend.
