In the streetcar museum, you can marvel at historical local transport vehicles and learn about their history.
The streetcar museum houses a comprehensive collection of contemporary witnesses to the history of local public transport in Leipzig. 38 streetcars for passenger transportation from the first years of operation between 1896 and 1988 have been restored to their original condition, most of them in working order. The museum's collection also includes numerous special and technical vehicles, equipment and selected non-rail vehicles (e.g. buses).
The museum opens its doors to visitors every third Sunday from May to September from 10 am to 5 pm. The special streetcar line 21E takes visitors from the city center to the museum every hour. On opening days, there are also additional special trips with historic vehicles starting at the museum.
