Waldheim Town and Museum House
The Stadt- und Museumshaus was reopened in 2017. The first floor houses the town information office and a small conservatory for all kinds of events and educational museum activities.
One floor above, the Georg Kolbe collection is presented in three rooms with portrait busts and small sculptures made of bronze, terracotta and cast stone, an oil painting by daughter Leonore and movement studies by the Waldheim-born artist.
In the attic, on the old wool floor, the 'Waldheim town history(ies)' are presented interactively in oversized suitcases. Five exciting themed areas lead visitors into Waldheim's past and bring regional history(ies) to life: Clothmaking and guild history, the development of the Florena brand, industrialization in Waldheim, the history of Waldheim prison and Waldheim artists and scholars.
Changing exhibitions of modern art are presented on the 'Art Staircase', and there are regular new and old things to discover about Waldheim and Saxony in the special exhibition room.
The 'History(s) in the Museum House' series of events and special guided tours invite visitors to spend many interesting, amusing and/or thought-provoking hours in Waldheim House.

- By public transport: From Leipzig main station, take the RE50 to Riesa. From Riesa take the RB45 to Waldheim (approx. 12 minutes on foot to the destination).
By car: Take the A14 to the Döbeln-Nord exit. Then follow the B169 and the signs to Meinsberg/Forchheim. Follow Am Berg, Döbelner Str. and Waldheimer Str. to Niedermarkt in Waldheim. Social Media
