Flying high - climbing in Leipzig and the region

A completely different type of climbing, but one that is no less fun and thrilling can be found in the so-called high ropes courses. These facilities are becoming increasingly popular. High up in the treetops or between artificially erected poles, numerous creative obstacles lead you along various courses. From swinging planks to suspension bridges, Tarzan ropes and fast-paced zip lines, there is everything to test your skill and courage. The courses are at different heights and you decide for yourself how far above the safe ground you want to venture. Climbing in the climbing garden is always safe, as you are not only equipped with a special safety system, but also receive comprehensive instruction and always have the opportunity to ask the trained staff for help.
Idyllically situated on Lake Albrechtshain, the first high ropes course on our list invites you to enjoy climbing adventures in the great outdoors. The operators of the Kletterwald Leipzig have set up 11 courses with over 100 climbing elements between the tall deciduous trees on the shore of the lake. You can easily spend the whole day here and try your hand at the various obstacles. Who will be the most skillful and fastest through the courses and who will shine with fearlessness on the fast-paced zip lines? The Leipzig Climbing Park is fun for large and small groups, as well as private parties and company events. 
Our next high ropes course is particularly impressive with its breathtaking view over the Markkleeberger See. At Kletterpark Markkleeberg, you can climb between 24 wooden poles at heights of up to 12 meters over creative and nerve-wracking obstacles. The courses are laid out in different levels of difficulty and heights, so that beginners, sports enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies alike will have fun. Tip: Reward your courage afterwards with a snack in the adjacent Bistro with a view over the Leipziger Neuseenland!
The village of Kriebstein is mainly known to many for the castle of the same name. But did you know that you can also go climbing there? In the Kletterwald Kriebstein, you can swing your way to lofty heights on seven different courses with a total of 95 climbing elements. Beginner, advanced or pro? It doesn't matter, because there is a suitable route for every level of difficulty. Keeping your balance is particularly important, as you have to negotiate dizzy net bridges, rickety wooden planks and swinging ropes. So it's time to train your own sense of balance and face the adventure!
You want to venture onto exciting courses at lofty heights, even if the weather doesn't really play ball? No problem! At Nova Eventis (just a few kilometers outside Leipzig's city limits) there is an indoor climbing forest. Here you can indulge in maximum climbing fun on 8 courses and 76 climbing elements365 days a year. With its 1,700 square meters, the indoor high ropes course is in no way inferior to its outdoor counterparts. The number of climbers is limited so that everyone can have fun climbing the obstacles without long waiting times, which is why you should definitely book in advance. Then nothing will stand in the way of your high ropes adventure under the roof of the large shopping paradise

Leipzig's climbing gyms are the ideal starting point for climbing enthusiasts with different levels of experience. As soon as you have put on your climbing harness, helmet and shoes correctly, you can get started on the climbing walls. The different colored routes indicate the level of difficulty. All beginners among you will feel particularly well looked after in the climbing gyms, as the staff always ensure your safety as competent contacts. All Leipzig climbing gyms also offer courses so that you can soon master the basics of climbing and secure each other with ropes and harnesses.

If you don't want to climb quite so high, Leipzig is also the right place for you: there are numerous bouldering gyms in our beautiful city. With this fashionable climbing variant, you don't have to climb quite as high as with the classic version. You don't have to secure yourself with ropes either, as thick mats on the floor ensure a soft fall in case of doubt. Bouldering is therefore particularly well suited for beginners! But there are also virtually no limits to the difficulty levels for real sports enthusiasts. Another plus point for climbing and bouldering halls is that they can be visited regardless of the weather, so you don't have to miss out on your summit even on a rainy day.

Climbing hall No Limit: Not far from Leipzig Central Station, you will find over 200 climbing routes for all levels of difficulty in Central Germany's largest indoor climbing hall. No Limit also offers you a bouldering area as well as equipment for hire and a bistro for refreshments in between. In addition to climbing courses for all levels, you can also celebrate children's birthdays and other occasions here.

Boulderhalle No Limit: The No Limit bouldering hall is located not far from the No Limit climbing hall. All fans of the trend sport of bouldering will be happy here. Without a safety rope and with soft mats as a safety device, you can venture up to a height of 4.50 m. You can also find courses for beginners to advanced here to learn how to boulder and perfect your technique.

Boulderhalle Kosmos: Bouldering is also a big thing in Plagwitz. In the Kosmos bouldering hall, you'll find the best conditions for shimmying along the artificial rocks. Every Friday, the climbing routes are rearranged, so there's never a dull moment. In addition to bouldering courses, you can also train your body and mind with various yoga courses and relax with a massage. You are guaranteed to leave the hall exhausted, relaxed and satisfied after a day in the cosmos.

Climbing courses at the Artistenkombinat: A special climbing offer can be found south of Leipzig city center at the Artistenkombinat. The Center for Juggling and Artistry has set up a climbing hall on its premises, which is available exclusively for adult and children's courses as well as for closed events such as climbing birthdays or company events.
