Karl-Heine-Straße stretches for almost two kilometers from Clara-Zetkin-Park to Plagwitz station. It is not just a street, but the pulsating lifeline of western Leipzig. No matter what time of day, there's always something going on. Find out what awaits you there by reading on.

For night owls

If you fancy going out and partying, Karl-Heine-Straße is the place to be. You can warm up with a few drinks at RUDI. You can enjoy a few cocktails in a cozy atmosphere before moving on to the next spot. The party night continues at Noch Besser Leben, where a relaxed atmosphere and moderate drinks prices await you. If you don't want to go home afterwards, you can dance until dawn and check out the various bars. You stay and realize how quickly the night passes in the locations on Karl-Heine-Straße? Then stay for breakfast and head to Café Albert, opposite the Westwerk, or to Kaiserbad right next door.

Culture

Where Karl-Heine-Straße and Zschochersche Straße meet, the large tower of the Felsenkeller rises towards the sky. The time-honored building dates back to 1890 and has been restored to its former glory. An atmospheric ballroom, a cosy beer garden and the small, alternative club NAUMANNs are now the venue for a cultural mix of concerts, readings, dance events, theater productions, variety shows, markets and balls. A few meters further on you will find the Schaubühne Lindenfels, which enriches Leipzig's cultural scene no less. Theatre, cinema, festivals - the program is diverse. Films away from the mainstream can also be seen in the small arthouse cinema Cineding.

Culinary delights

On a stroll along Karl-Heine-Strasse, you can not only get your fill of great locations and organic stores, but also eat your fill in a variety of restaurants and eateries. At Salon Casablanca, for example, you can get everything your heart desires. Here you will find the most beautiful blue mosaic, Moroccan motifs, dishes from the tajine, couscous, yogurt, nut and honey treats and tasty baklava. The owners will be happy to share their traditional recipes with you.

The Beard Brothers can also satisfy your hunger with their unusual hot dog creations. Have you tried the version with camembert and cranberry chili sauce? Fancy a potato? Then head to Don Kichot, because here you can get the Turkish restaurant's specialty - the stuffed and baked baked potato Kumpir - in numerous variations. Absolutely delicious!
