The Peaceful Revolution of 1989 shaped Leipzig like no other event in the city's recent history and made the city a symbol of courage and change.

Every Saturday, the Museum in the "Round Corner" offers a city tour to the most important sites of the Peaceful Revolution in Leipzig. The tour "In the footsteps of the Peaceful Revolution" recalls the historical events of 1989 at key locations in Leipzig's city center and conveys contemporary history directly at the authentic sites, bringing it to life and making it comprehensible.

The tour takes you to Nikolaikirchhof, where the call for freedom was heard as early as spring 1989, on to Augustusplatz, the site of the large mass rallies in autumn, and along the Leipziger Ring, the route of the demonstrations at the time. The tour also looks at Leipzig's development since 1989.

The city tour starts every Saturday at 2 p.m. at the main portal of St. Nicholas Church.
