Connewitz City Garden

  • Park/garden
For three decades, the expansive 4300 square meter Stadtgarten Connewitz has been inviting people to relax, play, learn and join in.
Between April and October, the Stadtgarten Connewitz invites you to take a break in the garden and take a deep breath to leave the stress of everyday life and the hustle and bustle of the city behind.

There is plenty to discover all year round: In spring, early bloomers, busy wild bees and birds in search of mates herald the start of the gardening season.

During the summer months, the city garden is a lively place: children chase after lemon butterflies, explore the barefoot path, snack on berries and build their own booths from large branches. The many old trees in the Stadtgarten provide pleasant shade and coolness on hot days, and most of the more than 70 medicinal and aromatic plants in the herb garden are ready for harvesting.

In the fall, when the days get shorter, it's especially worth coming to the Stadtgarten in the late afternoon hours and looking up: At dusk, dwarf bats hunt for insects in the sky of the Stadtgarten.
