Frohburg Castle Museum
Frohburg Castle is a culturally and historically valuable monument in Saxony. Since 1974, the Museum Frohburg has had its home in this historic building, which is also the oldest building in the town of Frohburg. The museum conveys the building history of the castle and presents attractive and unique permanent exhibitions with art ceramics by Kurt Feuerriegel and historical sieveware.
The castle formed the center of one of the largest manors in Saxony until 1945. Today's four-winged complex was created from a medieval castle complex around 1200. Visitors can experience five major construction phases from the Romanesque period to Classicism/19th century. Classically painted rooms, an impressive vaulted cellar and the adjoining English-style park invite you on an interesting journey through time.
Museum educational offers for children and young people as well as a "Historical school lesson for adults" also make the museum a popular educational, cultural and leisure facility.
The "Jägerzimmer" with adjoining kitchen can be hired for celebrations for up to 30 people. Frohburg Castle is a member of Schlösserland Sachsen and accepts the Saxony Volunteer Card. From May to September, weddings can be held in the classicist picture hall; appointments can be made at the Frohburg registry office.
