Historic Erbs brickworks
The Erbs brickworks started producing bricks from alluvial clay for the regional market in 1911. In the season from spring to winter, ten to twelve women and men did the hard work for the Erbs and Zobel families. The drying shed and kiln have been preserved in almost their original state. The bucket chain excavator, tipping lorry and ring kiln can still be admired in working order today, as can the storks on the forge. Bricks are made by hand during tours for groups of visitors. The technical monument is open on Sundays from 1 to 3 pm. Further dates and group visits on request.
