The Taucha manor house was shaped by historic events. The manor, which was used as a stable in earlier times, is being preserved and expanded by the Taucha Castle Association.

In 1542, the then lord of Taucha, Wilhelm von Haugwitz the Younger, had a castle built on the castle hill. The castle and manor often provided protection and shelter in various wars and emergencies. It was later converted into a cowshed and pigsty and then a stable. In 1996, the manor was finally taken over by the town of Taucha. The Taucha Castle Support Association is founded. It is tasked with ensuring the preservation and further expansion of the manor house.

There is also a manor house museum on the grounds of the manor house.

The manor house has been extensively renovated and reconstructed in recent years. Since 2023, all the renovated buildings have been in operation and transferred to their new function. The manor house is now home not only to the Friends' Association, but also to other associations and facilities of the town of Taucha (e.g. citizens' office, trade office and residents' registration office).
