Museum of local history Großzschepa

Agricultural machinery and equipment, such as threshing and drilling machines and grist mills, can be viewed in the farm barn. Every year in June, the museum day takes place with a varied program.
The local history museum is located in a former half-hoofed farm. The museum includes a separate small building and the barn.
The small building was probably built in the 17th century. After renovation in 1989, it became a museum with an exhibition on local history. Above all, history is presented with exhibits from 3,000 years of Zschepa history.
The barn is about as old as the small museum and in parts the oldest surviving barn in Zschepa. It houses a collection of historical agricultural machinery and equipment dating from around 1850 to 1950, as well as an exhibition on rural households from 1900 to 1950.
Since 1997, an annual museum day has been held in June and in August there is an evening of music with wine and candlelight.
The museum is open all year round. There are no fixed opening and closing times, prior registration is advantageous. The museum is run by the "Verein Heimatmuseum Großzschepa e.V."
