Observation tower "Wackelturm" in the Rosental valley
Anyone looking for a very special view of Leipzig can enjoy it from the observation tower in Rosental. Surrounded by Leipzig's alluvial forest, the green lung of the city, the observation tower offers a breathtaking view over treetops, parks and the Leipzig skyline. The 20-metre-high tower is affectionately known as the "Wobble Tower" by the people of Leipzig, as it sways back and forth on windy days. After a walk in the countryside and in good weather, it is worth climbing the numerous steps and being rewarded with a new perspective and a sweeping view over Leipzig and the region. Many of Leipzig's sights can be spotted from here. The observation tower is somewhat hidden in the alluvial forest near the Marienweg and the sewage treatment plant on the Parthe river.
