The playground on Klangberg attracts families to a place with a dramatic history and idyllic local recreation.

At the foot of the historic Klangberg is an idyllic recreational area for families. The Klangberg or "Trümmerberg an der Etzoldschen Sandgrube" and adjacent park is a historic site worth seeing that is still unknown to many.

The Klangberg takes its name from the sound-producing stone slabs on the plateau at the top of the hill. Its transient sound is intended to commemorate the demolition of the University Church of St. Pauli by the SED regime in 1968.

An excursion to the Klangberg is particularly worthwhile with children aged 3 and over. There is a playground, table tennis tables and a basketball court. The playground impresses with challenging climbing elements where children can test their skills. There is also a slide and plenty of space for ball and catch games. Of course, an exciting little hike to the top of the Klangberg with children is a good idea.
From there, you can enjoy a perfect view of the nearby Völkerschlachtdenkmal monument.

Two information boards vividly tell the story of the Klangberg and its connection to the blown-up university church.

Not far from the Klangberg is the very popular sports pub "Schnittstelle 1845". It's worth a detour here if you get hungry.
