The football club RasenBallsport Leipzig GmbH & eV was founded in 2009 and has been playing in the Bundesliga, Germany's highest league, since the 2016/2017 season. The club, known as RB Leipzig, plays its home games in the 42.959-seat Red Bull Arena Leipzig at the Sportforum and has a modern training center on the adjacent Cottaweg, where all teams from the U15s to the first men's team train every day. After promotions in 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2016, RB Leipzig is now in the top flight of German football and will be competing in the Champions League, the highest European football competition for club teams, for the first time from the 2017/2018 season. The sports-loving city is looking forward to numerous football festivals in Leipzig in the coming years and invites fans, supporters and interested parties to support the Leipzig boys on site in the stadium.
