Schkeuditz

  • Historical site
Schkeuditz is nestled between the alluvial forest, Leipzig/Halle Airport and Lake Schladitz.

Numerous well-developed and natural cycle paths criss-cross the town and its diverse districts, inviting you to explore. Musical performances, concerts and readings take place on the Biedermeier beach on the Hayna shore of Lake Schladitz during the summer months.

Cultural explorers can also experience all kinds of things in Schkeuditz. Planetarium programs take place regularly in the astronomical center. The Rittergutskirche church in the nearby district of Kleinliebenau, which lies on the former Via Regia and is known as a pilgrimage site, also has a Friedrich Gerhardt organ. The 17-metre-high Gerbisdorf paddle wheel, visible from afar, is a reminder of the former open-cast mining in the region.

In the brochure "Unterwegs in Schkeuditz", interested visitors can find detailed information about the excursion destinations and hosts in Schkeuditz.
