The small town of Schkeuditz is nestled between the Auwald forest and the Weiße Elster and Luppe rivers, the Leipzig/Halle Airport and Lake Schladitz. Numerous well-developed cycle paths that are close to nature run through the city and its districts, and invite you to spend some time here.
Culture lovers can also enjoy a variety of activities in Schkeuditz. The astronomical centre regularly hosts planetarium programs. The feudal manor church in the nearby suburb of Kleinliebenau, which is located on the former Via Regia and is a well-known pilgrimage site, also boasts a Friedrich-Gerhardt organ. The 17-metre-high Gerbisdorf bucket wheel, visible from afar, is reminiscent of the former open-cast mine in this area.
