Schreberbad

Short facts

The Schreberbad is the oldest swimming facility in Leipzig that is still in use and is a great place for small and big water fans alike.

The Schreberbad invites small and big water lovers to have fun in 610 m² of water. The outdoor pool is in the west of Leipzig, not far from the city centre, and in addition to the recreational pool, it has a 25-metre lap pool for swimmers and a leisure pool and a kids pool for the little fish. Thanks to the playground and facilities for ping-pong, basketball or volleyball, boredom is simply not an option. There is plenty of space for enjoying the sun and relaxing on the large grass area.

The Schreberbad opened in 1866, which makes it the oldest swimming facility still in operation in Leipzig. The Schreberbad got its name from the adjacent allotment garden, which is considered to be the oldest of its kind in the whole of Germany.
