Stone adventure site on Lake Markkleeberg

The stone adventure site is a playable boulder garden with various play elements and is located on the Störmthal Canal, not far from the canoe park lock and bascule bridge. As the final stage of development, the adventure points of the 14 km long geological trail along Lake Markkleeberg and Lake Störmthal will be centrally connected here. Numerous large and small boulders from the Ice Age, experience stations with stones and evidence from the Tertiary period in the form of Tertiary quartzites and silicified wood can be found along the recreated Ice Age stream.

The stone experience area is around 2,000 square meters in size and has six playable experience stations. Starting with a two-metre-high climbing rock, along a stream swing and a climbing tree, children can get active themselves in a shaded fossil sandpit in the center of the site and uncover witnesses to the earth's history. Splashing and muddling in the stream is expressly encouraged.

Various seating and rest areas invite you to linger.

Due to the temperature, the stream is open from around Easter until the end of the October vacations.
