Volkshaus Döbeln

Short facts

The modernised Volkshaus houses halls for events, a fireplace room and a bowling alley.

The Volkshaus is filled to the brim with tradition. As far back as 1702, events were held in a previous building which was known as the Schützenhaus at that time. In 1887, the Volkshaus in its present form was built. Then as now, it is a social centre for Döbeln and the entire region. Dance balls, graduation parties, corporate events, Mardi Gras sessions and many musical events take place here. Every year, more institutions and organisations also hold their Saxony-wide conferences or similar events here.

The house has been extensively renovated and modernised in recent years. Directly next to the building is a very large, free parking lot on Steigerhausplatz, which is also suitable for buses. It is only a few steps to the lively city centre.

The large hall has a maximum capacity of 400 seats, but can be equipped with partition walls for smaller events.
The house also has a fireplace room with 40 seats and a bowling alley with four lanes and 25 seats, which, however, is not currently in operation. There is no restaurant in the Volkshaus itself, but external catering is possible without problems. If required, the operator can also arrange catering companies.
