West Wing Leipzig
The Westflügel Leipzig is not only an attractive venue for the district. As a place of unique charm and with its diverse program, the Westflügel is also a sought-after port of call for touring ensembles from around the world. The theater has been working for many years with a network of artists from Europe and beyond, is part of international co-productions and itself acts as a think tank for the entire puppet theater scene (awarded the German Federal Theater Prize in 2015).
Built in 1900 by the architect Emil Franz Hänsel, the listed Art Nouveau building is now owned by Lindenfels Westflügel e.V. In addition to its venue, the original ballroom, which is over eight meters high, it also has a theater restaurant, the (culture) bar froelich & herrlich. The Kunstautomat, Leipzig's smallest gallery with a regular exhibition program, is also located here.
