A hike through the Colditzer Forest to the source of the Parthe River is recommended from Bad Lausick.

In addition to many terrain courses in the spa town of Bad Lausick, a hike through the Colditzer Forest, which together with the adjacent Glasten area is one of the largest forest areas in Saxony, is also recommended. The source of the Parthe River can be found in the middle of the forest. After the half-day tour, you can regain strength in the pools and the extensive sauna area of the RIFF leisure pool.

Directions

On Badstraße, walk right towards the city center. Before the railway bridge, turn left into Heinrich-Heine-Straße and behind the railway line turn left into Reichersdorfer Straße. Follow this to the pond and then turn left into Alte Buchheimer Straße up to Buchheim. Shortly before leaving the town, the route turns left over Ziegeleiweg and then right into the Colditzer Forest. At the Kohlflügelweg junction, turn left and walk to the B 176. Go about 300m right along the B 176, then left into the forest. At the next fork (junction with 5 branches), the left path leads sharply back about 100 m to the source of the Parthe. After visiting it, go back to the junction and keep left to the paved road from Schönbach to Glasten. Turn left to Glasten. There again, keep left and follow the path back towards Bad Lausick. At the town exit, the former railway embankment leads back to Bad Lausick. Leave the former railway line shortly before Bad Lausick to the right and reach the starting point Badstraße again via the path by the sports field.
