The Auwaldstation Leipzig is located directly on the Weiße Elster - an adventure center that focuses on local nature.
Located at the "entrance" to the Burgaue nature reserve and Lützschena Castle Park, the Auwaldstation invites guests of all ages to get to know one of the most beautiful and valuable natural areas in the region all year round. With a wealth of information on nature topics and a varied range of excursions, hikes, workshops and creative workshops, the Auwaldstation is an educational facility and meeting place. Both on the first floor of the building and in the outdoor areas, various experience areas provide information on numerous environmental and nature topics. The focus is on Leipzig's alluvial forest and the palace park. The second podcast episode of "Welcome to Leipzig" on the topic of "Hiking and cycling in Leipzig" features an interview with Managing Director Sebastian Günther and more facts about the local nature reserve and its animal inhabitants.

The floodplain exhibition in the interior and the exhibitions in the courtyard and outside are free of charge.

One-way ticket for the observation platform:

Reduced 2 €
Children up to 3 years free
Information on reduced prices: Children up to the age of 12 as well as students, severely disabled persons and holders of the Leipzig Pass receive a reduced ticket for the observation platform with exhibition on the treetop on presentation of valid proof.

Directions & Parking facilities

By public transport: The nearest station is Leipzig, Lützschena (streetcar line 11). From there it is about a 7-minute walk to the Auwaldstation. Alternatively, take the S-Bahn line S3 to the Leipzig-Lützschena stop. From there it is approx. 21 minutes on foot to the Auwaldstation.

By car: Drive along Georg-Schumann-Straße to Schlosshof (Schlossweg 9, 04159 Leipzig) and park there. There is no parking lot directly at the Auwaldstation.
