Geissler organ in the parish church of Deuben

It can be assumed that an organ was already installed during the major church renovation in 1658.
 
The current organ was installed in 1890 and replaced an organ from 1783. This new building was made possible by a generous donation from the village. The landowner Maximilian Mehnert stipulated in his will that a new organ be paid for the church in Deuben. An inscription on the inside of the console door still commemorates this today. In August
1889, the congregation commissioned master organ builder Conrad Geißler from Eilenburg to build the new organ, which was completed in mid-January 1890 as the organ builder's 103rd instrument. The organ was consecrated on February 9th
1890.
 
The façade pipes had to be given away in 1917 due to the war and could only be replaced in 1929 as part of a church renovation. Apart from the installation of an electric blower in 1957, the organ did not undergo any major changes or repairs for 77 years. In 2006, the organ building company Wünning from Großolbersdorf carried out a general overhaul of the organ. In the process, the decorative elements of the case were regilded and the façade pipes were given a silver varnish.
