The former official residence of the Electorate of Saxony is now a landscape museum with a permanent exhibition on the city and regional history as well as changing special exhibitions.

11 newly designed rooms in the permanent exhibition provide an insight into the cultural landscape of the Düben Heath, which has been shaped by man. The town's history has a lot to offer with topics such as cures and commandos and the restored store fittings of the Schultze drugstore (1816 - 1984) on the market square. The castle tower offers a panoramic view and interesting facts about the history of Hans Kohlhase.
