Old stock exchange
The oldest baroque building in Leipzig is the Old Stock Exchange on the Naschmarkt. After its construction in 1678, the Old Stock Exchange served as a meeting place for 200 years, where transactions were concluded, auctions held and bills of exchange traded. In 1886, the Old Stock Exchange was replaced by a larger building on Tröndlingring by the Chamber of Commerce. Since then, concerts, readings, theater performances, lectures, congresses and private and public celebrations have taken place in the Alte Börse . The Alte Börse is still a popular venue today. The simple and stylish hall offers space for 200 people.
