Promenade ring

Leipzig's city center is surrounded by the Promenadenring, a series of green spaces that is unparalleled in the region's major cities. Small and large parks are lined up here, inviting you to take a stroll and linger.

As you walk around the completely enclosed city center, you will also find numerous monuments to Leipzig personalities along the way. The ring symbolizes the former wall around the old town as well as the entrance gates and the former moat. If you look down on Leipzig from above, the green ring is even more clearly visible.
