Saxon Academy of Sciences in Leipzig
The Saxon Academy of Sciences in Leipzig was founded in 1846 as the Royal Saxon Society of Sciences and still stands today in the tradition of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz's academy idea of closely linking theory and practice ("theoria cum praxi"). More than 200 scientists from various disciplines conduct research here. The academy opens its doors at regular events and during the Long Night of Science.
