School Museum - Workshop for School History Leipzig
The benefits are described under "Good to know / Price information".
The unique collections of original objects from 100 years of school history are the highlight of the School Museum.
The School Museum in Leipzig shows how schools and teaching have changed over the last 100 years. Three eras of Leipzig's school history fill 800 m² of exhibition space: "School in the Imperial Era", "School under the Swastika" and "School in the GDR".
With original objects in authentically recreated classrooms, school history can be experienced with all the senses with lessons from the different eras. Exhibitions, workshops and projects about school and resistance round off the offer.
The school museum offers a wide range of workshops for pupils from different types of schools. Registered groups can also experience a lesson as it was in GDR times or in the German Empire.
Another offer is the learning labs, where registered visitor groups can use authentic teaching and learning materials such as textbooks, archive sources, exercise books and documents. In addition, filmed interviews with contemporary witnesses and feature films are provided to enable a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the school system.
