Sound installation

  • Orchestras & Ensembles
At the sound installation in Kretschmanns Hof on the Leipzig Music Trail, you can turn back time and hear what Leipzig sounded like back then.

On the way along the Leipzig Music Trail between stations 14 and 15, you will encounter the "Sound Shower", an installation that allows you to immerse yourself in the soundscape of past centuries. Here you can choose between Leipzig in the first half of the 18th century, the second half of the 19th century and the present day.

A piece of classical music is offered for each era: Johann Sebastian Bach, Edvard Grieg and Bernd Franke. You will experience a combination of city sounds and musical styles of the respective period and "hear" the change.
