Sound installation

Short facts

  • Leipzig
  • Orchestras & Ensembles,…

With the sound installation in Kretschmanns Hof on the Leipzig Notenspur, you can turn back time and hear what Leipzig sounded like back then.

On the path of the Leipzig Notenspur between stations 14 and 15, you will encounter the "Klangdusche", an installation that allows you to immerse yourself in the sounds of past centuries. Here you can choose between the Leipzig of the first half of the 18th century, the second half of the 19th century, and the present time.

For each epoch, you can immerse yourself in the work of a contemporary composer: Johann Sebastian Bach, Edvard Grieg and Bernd Franke. You will experience a combination of city sounds and musical styles from the respective time and "hear" the changes that have taken place.
