The tower of the St. Wenceslai church in Wurzen

The 52-metre-high tower of the town church of St. Wenceslai in Wurzen with its baroque dome from 1689 housed the tower keeper's apartment until 1911, which was furnished on behalf of the town authorities. It was both the workplace and residence of the town's tower keepers and their families, who were responsible for striking the hour and sounding the fire alarm.

160 steps lead up to the tower. The climb is always rewarded with a wonderful view over the rooftops of Rozen and a tour of the town's highest apartment. Thanks to much effort and donations, it was renovated, lovingly furnished almost true to the original and has been open to the public again since 1997.
