Wurzen City Park
Wurzener Stadtpark, which still shows the basic features of a folk park from the Wilhelminian era, invites you to take long walks under shady, extensive stands of trees.
The park in the north of the city was created in 1879 on a 16-hectare field and is a place of relaxation and recreation for young and old. Created by Kommerzienrat Juel, the park was expanded in four construction phases. The idyllic pond with fountain and grotto attracts many visitors. Well-kept park paths through 18-metre-high, extensive stands of trees and spacious green areas invite you to take a stroll. The medieval-looking round tower made of quarry stone with a pewter crown and attached turret was built in 1888. There are two playgrounds for children and a tennis court for sports enthusiasts.
