Zeuckritz windmill
South of Dahlener Heide, in the Cavertitz district of Zeuckritz, you will come across an old trestle windmill that was in operation until 1954. Its construction and mode of operation are extremely simple. The purely static construction comprises a trestle with a stand. The mill housing sits on the trestle, mediated by the saddle, and is connected to the flour tree. This enables the mill body to rotate around the stand. This is done by hand or with the help of a protruding star wheel. The two-storey mill body is closed at the top by a saddle roof. The trestle windmill can be visited by appointment with the municipality of Cavertitz.
