Zwenkau is a lovely, family-friendly small town, surrounded by the largest lake in the Leipzig New Lake District. From the city harbour on Cape Zwenkau with its constantly growing residential, leisure, recreation and water sports area you can enjoy an unparalleled view of the lake, the pyramid of the BELANTIS amusement park, the Bistumshöhe observation tower and the skyline of Leipzig.

Additional sights are: Mining exhibition pavilion, viewpoints at the lake, town hall, Laurentius church, Bauhaus Rabe, "Sattelhof", water tower, "Schützenhaus", Ratskeller, Baroque town hall, KulturKino, nature and geology trail, "Trianon" and Lindenallee Eythra in Zwenkauer Eichholz as well as Elster floodplains along the "Weiße Elster".

Zwenkau is located on tourist trails such as "Straße der Braunkohle", "Grüner Ring Leipzig", "7-Seen-Wanderweg", "Elsterradweg", and the "New Lake Route". Zwenkau's idyllic districts are also worth seeing: Großdalzig, Kleindalzig, Löbschütz, Rüssen-Kleinstorkwitz, Tellschütz and Zitzschen.
