Experience fascinating park landscapes between city and country

The almost 60 km long Parthe-Mulde cycle route runs along the small Parthe river between the cities of Leipzig and Grimma. As a connection between the Elster cycle path and the Mulde cycle path, the route offers an exciting sequence of different settlement and natural landscapes, one of the special features of which is an extensive network of parks. In addition to numerous idyllic parks, the species-rich Parthenaue also has many other unexpected discoveries in store. Fascinating art objects and buildings from past centuries that are worth seeing invite you to explore and linger.

Due to the small differences in altitude, the Parthe-Mulde cycle route is also particularly suitable for families.

Directions

The Parthe-Mulde cycle route runs mostly along the banks of the Parthe on paved or asphalted cycle paths through parkland and on quiet field or forest paths. In the cities, you mostly travel on marked, independent cycle paths and only rarely do you have to use quiet roads outside of town. The route is signposted and begins in Leipzig. It then leads via Taucha, Borsdorf, Beucha near Brandis, Naunhof and Parthenstein to Grimma.

The Parthe-Mulde cycle route connects the Elster cycle path with the Mulde cycle path.

Author's tip

It is worth taking a short detour to the Kirchbruch Beucha, which provided the basic material for the Battle of the Nations Monument in Leipzig.

By the way, a clear heart shape can be seen from a bird's eye view.
