This route takes us back in time – to the time of castles and palaces. Nestled in a uniquely beautiful natural setting, they make up the fascinating Leipzig region.

Rochlitz Castle with its two towers, "Lichte Jupe" and "Finstre Jupe", was built to secure the victory over the West Slavs. Learn more about the history of the castle on a guided tour or by visiting the permanent exhibition. www.schloss-rochlitz.de

Colditz Castle not only tells a medieval story, but also of the escape attempts of Allied officers who were prisoners of war and were held in Colditz Castle between 1939 and 1945. The castle is also the venue for the "Colditz Classic", a series of classical concerts on the Blüthner grand piano. www.schloss-colditz.de

Mildenstein Castle, located on a spur above the Freiberger Mulde, is one of the oldest castles in the Saxon settlement areas. In addition to exhibitions, guided tours and events, you can also take part in the interactive treasure hunt with Escape Room and find the "One-Eyed Man's Treasure". www.burg-mildenstein.de
