The hiking trail starts at the Groitzsch town tower near the market square. Passing the Frauenkirche, it also touches the ruins of the Wiprechtsburg. As the castle of Count Wiprecht von Groitzsch, it was of great historical importance and is considered the oldest stone building in Saxony. Next, the trail enters the "Pfarrholz" nature reserve, a species-rich floodplain forest area through which the Schwennigke flows. It continues past the villages of Altengroitzsch and Saasdorf via Gatzen to Löbnitz-Bennewitz. The tour ends here at the former manor, the place where Ulrike von Levetzow was baptized. This route is approximately 6,5 km long.
The path is marked with a yellow horizontal bar on a white background.
The scenic connecting path from Löbnitz-Bennewitz to Profen station is also signposted. The return journey can be started from here. This connecting path is approximately 4 km long.
