Apel's Garden

The Apels Garten restaurant is located in the heart of Leipzig and offers delicious Saxon cuisine.
In addition to Saxon cuisine, prepared according to time-honored recipes, guests are treated to everything they need for a special Leipzig-style culinary experience. The traditional dishes are also paired with international delicacies.

The name “Apels Garten” is inspired by the former Baroque garden of the same name. Around 1700, the merchant Andreas Dietrich Apel inherited the Bieringischer Garten—which had existed since 1629—and expanded it in the years that followed. The fan-shaped park was located in what is now the inner Weststadt district and existed until around 1800, after which the area was developed.
