Con spirito - The Leipzig Chamber Music Festival

Con spirito is an annual chamber music festival held in Leipzig and organized by the Schumann House Leipzig. It builds on the city's rich musical history, through which Leipzig has developed into one of the most important European cultural capitals since the 19th century, shaped by the St. Thomas Boys Choir, the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and the creation of the first civic concert orchestra, among other things.

The Con spirito program includes chamber music concerts with renowned musicians and young ensembles. In addition to well-known works, the program also includes rarely performed compositions and thematic focuses. The concerts take place in European cultural heritage sites in Leipzig, which are part of the Leipzig Music Trail and were awarded the European Heritage Label in 2018. These include the Alte Nikolaischule, the Bach Museum, the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig, the Grieg Meeting Place, the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy", the Mendelssohn House, the Schumann House and the Thomaskirche.
