Exhibition "Courage and Powerlessness" Torgau Place of Remembrance - Judicial Injustice - Dictatorship - Resistance
Thousands of deserters, opponents of the war and members of the resistance from all over Europe were imprisoned in Torgau during the Second World War. Torgau was the center of Nazi military justice during the Second World War. The exhibition "Courage and Powerlessness" tells of personal fates - and of the abuse of justice to enforce the dictatorship. After 1945, Torgau was home to two Soviet special camps and a GDR prison with a juvenile detention center.
The exhibition is barrier-free. Admission is free. The current opening hours can be found on the website www.erinnerungsort-torgau.de/besucherinfo
