Hildebrandt organ in the Kreuzkirche Störmthal

Zacharias Hildebrandt (1688 - 1757) was Gottfried Silbermann's (1683 - 1753) journeyman from 1713 to 1722. Working independently from 1722/23, the contract to build the organ in Störmthal was signed between him and the patron Hilmar Statz von Fullen in 1722.On 2 November 1723, Johann Sebastian Bach tested the organ and "also recognized and praised it as capable and consistent." I/14 Hildebrandt took over the maintenance and care himself until 1754. Until 1905, repairs and changes to the disposition were made several times. After repair work in 1934 and 1974, the Hermann Eule Orgelbau, Bautzen, carried out a fundamental restoration and reconstruction to the condition of 1723 in 2008.
