Ismayr organ in the St. Moritz church in Taucha
The Ismayr organ in St. Moritz Church in Taucha is a fine example of recent organ building in a historic sacred space. It was built in 1974 by organ builder Günter Ismayr in Bernried for a church in Nuremberg-Mögeldorf and reinstalled in St. Moritz Church in 1996. The case was adapted to the baroque church interior by the renowned organ builder Eule from Bautzen and the voicing was modified to suit the acoustics of the church.
The two-manual instrument has 18 stops and around 1,200 pipes and has since enriched church services, organ concerts and festive musical events with a wide range of sounds.
