Mende organ in the village church of Podelwitz

Johann Gottlob Mende (1787 - 1850) founded his own workshop in Leipzig in 1820 . From 1821 to 1848, he was the last university organ builder in Leipzig. In 1840 - 41 he built the organ for Podelwitz. It is demonstrably the third organ in this church and was built at the same time as the organ of the Leipzig Paulinerorgel. II/22. 1888 - 1903 and 1912 repairs and redispositions were carried out. In 1917 the pewter façade pipes were confiscated and removed and replaced by zinc pipes in 1927. Between 1977 - 1993 and 2011 (Hermann Eule Orgelbau) extensive restoration and reconstruction work was carried out.
