Obermühle Bad Düben
The historic watermill, located right next to the spa gardens, was first mentioned in a document in 1434. Its water wheel once powered not only the grinding gear, but also an oil mill, fulling mill and the cutting gear. The former "obyrmol" was able to feed its millers for over 500 years until it was shut down at the end of the 1940s. Today, the Museumsdorf Dübener Heide association uses and operates the green mill yard. The rustic-looking grounds with garden, field barn and old agricultural technology bring the former life back to life amidst half-timbered buildings. A baking oven based on a historical model produces delicious bread that you should definitely try.
